Main implications

- The additional child allowance for single parents is regulated. This includes single parents or if one of the parents is in prison or is on probation for a period longer than 3 months, or one or both parents receive pension or early retirement pension. This allowance is 4,400 DKK per child per year.

- Moreover, a special family allowance for children can be provided: If both parents are dead, this special allowance is 16,872 DKK per year. If the father of the child cannot be found, when only one of the child’s parents are alive or if the child is adopted after the death of the parent with the right to the child’s custody, then the special allowance is 8,436 DKK per year.
