The EU's Mutual Information System on Social Protection (MISSOC) provides detailed, comparable information on national social protective systems. The content is updated regularly and available in English, French, and German.
The database covers 32 countries (28 EU Member States plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland); 12 main areas of social protection (financing, healthcare, sickness, maternity, invalidity, old-age, survivors, employment injuries and occupational diseases, family, unemployment, guaranteed minimum resources and long-term care); and more than 300 detailed categories.
Users can access country specific information which consists of social security guides, charts and brief descriptions of the administrative organization of social protection in each country. In addition, it is possible to access comparative tables containing detailed information on social protection through the free selection of both countries and categories.
