Main implications

This amendment of law signified the essential facilitation and acceleration of divorce by mutual consent. (e.g. it is not necessary to appear personally at the conciliation hearing, etc.). Divorce by mutual consent became quasi automatic when the spouses had no mutual children. Following this amendment, some 75-80 % of divorces were declared by the courts on the basis of mutual consent.
