Main implications

This law is commonly referred to as the “Healthcare Basket Law,” as it established the list of guaranteed healthcare services that make up the Polish “Healthcare Basket” [only services]. They were all based on a legal provision and were financed from public resources. Among these services were “Long-term Care Services” and “Palliative and Hospice Services,” which were thereafter treated as separate groups of services within the healthcare system (unlike in the Act of 19 September 2007).

Further details were to be included in future regulations1.
